Administrator's Message
Welcome back to Bear Country for another school year! Our staff is so excited for the months ahead. Pilot Butte School’s Learning Improvement Plan is aligned with the Prairie Valley Strategic Plan and the Provincial Education Plan. This year, our learning goals are designed to improve student literacy, numeracy and mental health. These three pillars are the foundation of our daily work. We believe through engaging learning activities along with extra-curricular opportunities in leadership, athletics, and aesthetics, students will find a sense of fulfillment in their school experience.
At Pilot Butte School, we believe that education is more than academics—it's about shaping character, building relationships, and inspiring every child to become their best self. Our school is guided by four foundational values that we live and learn by every day: being kind, earning and giving respect, accepting responsibility, and reaching for excellence.
💛 Kindness is the heart of our school. Whether it’s a smile in the hallway, a helping hand on the playground, or a thoughtful word in the classroom, we teach our students that small acts of kindness create a big impact.
🤝 Respect is something we both give and earn. We encourage our students to listen with empathy, speak with honesty, and treat others with dignity—because every person matters.
🧠 Responsibility means owning our actions, learning from our mistakes, and doing what’s right even when it’s hard. We help our students grow into thoughtful, accountable individuals who contribute positively to their world.
🚀 Excellence isn’t about being perfect—it’s about striving to do our best, setting goals, and never giving up. We celebrate effort, progress, and the courage to keep learning.
We look forward to a continued partnership with families and communities as we strive to improve learning opportunities for kids. It’s going to be a great year, Bears!
Sincerely,
Mr. R. Harding
