Library Policies and Procedures

Library Hours: Monday to Friday: 8:45 -3:45 (closed for lunch from 11:45-12:30)
Library Resources: Materials in the library include fiction, non-fiction, easy books, magazines, AV materials, professional materials, reference, big books and textbooks. Students are welcome to sign out any materials from the main library collection. To find a book, students can access the online catalogue from any computer with Internet access.

Borrowing Materials:
· All students may borrow library materials as long as they don’t have more than one book overdue.
· Books are loaned to students on the six day school cycle, therefore they are due the next library class.
· All resources may be renewed three times, after that they must be returned.
· Number of Loan Items
o Students in Kindergarten and Grade One may borrow one item at a time.
o Students in Grade Two and Grade Three may borrow up to two items at a time.
o Students in Grade Four to Grade Eight may borrow up to three items at a time.
· Overdue notices will be done twice monthly.
· Students are responsible for lost or damaged books. They will be charged the replacement cost of the book. The flat fee for losing or damaging a magazine will be $5.00.
Computer Use in Library: Students may use the computers in the library for school-related work and for searching the Library OPAC as long as they are supervised by a staff member. Students must abide by the Pilot Butte School Internet Acceptable Use Policy.
